President’s Note | January 2025
NCNC’s Christmas Party was held at Merle & Linda Maggy’s Residence on December 14, 2024. Linda prepared a fantastic meal, which was enjoyed by all. The gift exchange was fun with great gifts for all. Thank you Merle & Linda Maggy for your hospitality and all the effort you put into making this a very special event.
NCNC’s 2025 Regional Specialty Show will move to Wine Country Kennel Club’s Show in Napa, California on Friday, November 7, 2025. The contract between NCNC & Wine Country has been established and will be sent soon to Wine Country Kennel Club for their comments/changes. A draft copy of the contract will be provided to the Board prior to final signatures. A committee will be established to ensure a successful Regional.
Congratulations to April Skovmand who is now a General Member. I look forward to working with April in the future.
NCNC membership renewal time is here. Membership renewals are due on January 1st, and will be considered late on February 15, 2025. You have received an email from Kathy Bracisco, NCNC’s Membership Chair, about the renewal process.
NCNC’s next Board/General Meetings will be on Sunday, January 19, 2025. This will be a Zoom Meeting.
Additional nominations may be made at the meeting by any General Member in attendance provided that the person so nominated does not decline when their name is proposed, and provided further that if the proposed candidate is not in attendance at this meeting, their nominator shall present to the Corresponding Secretary a written statement from the proposed candidate signifying their willingness to be a candidate.

Our Story
The Northern California Newfoundland Club (NCNC) is a regional non-profit organization dedicated to celebrating and promoting the Newfoundland dog breed. Founded in 1964 by a group of passionate Newfoundland enthusiasts, the club was established to support the breed's unique characteristics, including its friendly temperament, loyalty, and impressive athletic abilities. NCNC provides opportunities for education, training, rescue efforts, and community engagement through events like water and draft tests, social gatherings, and breed showcases. The club also serves as a resource for Newfoundland owners, fostering a supportive network to ensure the health and well-being of these gentle giants.
